California lawmakers have sent Gov. Gavin Newsom legislation aimed at preventing private equity firms, hedge funds and other corporate investors from influencing attorneys’ decisions about litigation, according to a press release issued Wednesday.
Assembly Bill 2305, authored by Assemblymember Ash Kalra, D-San José, would require decisions involving litigation to remain solely with licensed attorneys and their clients. READ MORE
